A Slow Approach
The Earth Market project was born in response to the increasingly pressing need to bring the table and the field - consumers and producers - closer together, and to create an international network of farmers' markets that are organized in the spirit of Slow Food.
The Earth Market project was developed following a study of producers' markets around the world. Gaps were identified and guidelines were established to outline the scope of Earth Markets and to define these markets from others.
The Earth Market project is coordinated by the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity - Slow Food's operational arm, which delivers projects with a focus on safeguarding agricultural biodiversity and food traditions around the world.
